The key factor for A/B testing is the amount of data available. In our case, it comes from the traffic on your website.
Therefore, keep these numbers in mind:
- Below 10,000 monthly visitors, it is difficult to do A/B testing, apart from a few special cases
(for instance on landing pages). - From 10,000 to 200,000 monthly visitors, A/B testing is possible, but experiments will often take time to give results.
- From 200,000 to 1 million monthly visitors, your traffic is comfortable enough for A/B testing. You might still have some difficulties with some less frequented pages (at the end of the conversion funnel for instance).
- Above 1 million monthly visitors, traffic is rarely an issue.
