Is this your first time? This article will guide you step by step through your first use of Kameleoon, from the creation of your account to the launch of your first tests.
You have opened your Kameleoon account and filled in the address of your website. Congratulations, let’s get started!
Note : You must fill in your website when registering, but you can add other sites to your Kameleoon account afterwards.
Install the Kameleoon script
Before launching tests on your website, you must install the Kameleoon script. This article will guide you through this installation.
If your plan allows you to do so, you can set up multiple sites with your Kameleoon account. This can be useful if, for example, you want to run your tests on a mobile site in addition to the desktop version of your website, or if you want to test Kameleoon on your pre-production site first.
When installing Kameleoon on your site, you have the choice between three types of installation:
Note : You’re not familiar with all these technical shenanigans? You do not know how to install the script on your pages? At any time, you can decide to let your developer take care of the installation by clicking on “Forward to your developer”. All you have to do is enter their contact details in the pop-in and Kameleoon will send all the necessary information.
Explore the editor
The editor launches on your website. You are now able to change the elements of your page and create your first A/B test.
To learn more about Kameleoon’s editor, you can read our articles about the graphic editor.
Launch the test
The last step to create a test is the finalization. To access this part, click on the “Finalize” button in the header.
The menu below appears:
To launch a test, follow the three steps on your screen:
- 1st step: Choose the traffic allocation for each of your variations. Click and drag the slider of a variation by holding the click, or directly enter the percentage by clicking on the number displayed to the right of the slider
- 2nd step: Choose the visitors targeted by your test.
- 3rd step: Choose your trackings tools. Then assign a main goal (and maybe some more goals).
You can find more information about this step in our Quick start guide.
Once you’ve filled in all fields, you can click on the “Launch” button.
Last step before the launching of your test: a recap is displayed enabling you to check if everything is fine.
That’s it, your first test is launched!
